ArtsEdPro Pilot
This month, we are pleased to feature a guest blog from Sonja Wohlgemuth, who is coordinating the ArtsEdPro pilot at SVCREATES, which will explore new models to help schools and community arts providers leverage CA Prop 28 efficiently and equitably to ensure that students receive high-quality, equitable arts learning experiences.
. . .
California’s Proposition 28 opened a new chapter for arts education, dedicating nearly $1 billion in ongoing state funds each year to ensure that every public school can expand arts and music instruction. For the first time, California has created a permanent, protected source of funding for creative learning, distributed annually through each school district. The vision is bold, and the opportunity immense, but realizing it requires coordination, clarity, and collaboration.
That’s where SVCREATES’ ArtsEdPro initiative comes in.
