Now is the time to rally arts advocates, artists, and residents who care about the arts to send letters to support the campaign to urge Governor Newsom to reverse the proposed 58 percent cuts to arts program funding.
The 24-25 May Revise of the California state budget proposal includes decimating 100 percent of the funding for implementing SB 1116, the Performing Arts Equitable Payroll Fund ($12.5 million), and 38 percent of the state arts agency or California Arts Council’s ($10 million) budget for grants to arts nonprofits.
