SVCREATES Announces the 2024 Gilroy Elevate the Arts Grant Awards

Five Gilroy-based artist-driven projects will receive funding in 2024. They include festivals that will activate the city’s downtown and celebrate cultural heritage, a mural project that will provide opportunities for youth mentorship, and free art exhibitions that will engage local community residents.

The Gilroy Elevate the Arts Grant program, now in its second year, is made possible with funding from the City of Gilroy, the David and Lucile Packard Foundation, and the County of Santa Clara. With input from the local community, SVCREATES launched the program to elevate artists and the arts community in Gilroy by demonstrating the role arts can play in equitable community empowerment, activation, and revitalization. In alignment with SVCREATES’ mission to elevate Silicon Valley’s creative culture by building the capacity, visibility, and accessibility of the arts, these grants seek to provide more resources to the arts in a geographic region that has been particularly marginalized in Santa Clara County.

Our thanks to our funding partners and to the many community members and panelists who have helped design and administer this program. Click here to read the press release, which includes the full list of the grantees and funded projects.
